San Francisco Treat

Sunday, August 20, 2006

Some of you have already been lucky enough to have seen this, but for those few who haven't, here is Make Out City Studios latest creation.

NFL VERSION

PACKER VERSION

We recreated one of the greatest bloopers of all time, using the real audio and studying each frame of the play to make it as accurate as possible. For our first episode we revisited Jim Marshall's wrong way run. Here's the backstory:

In 1964 the Minnesota Vikings were in San Francisco playing the 49ers (I'm talking football here) and Jim Marshall picked up a fumble and ran the wrong direction, threw it in the endzone, and therefore scored on himself. Brilliant! This play was destined to be relived on the electric gridiron, so please enjoy.

We'll write more about this later this week, along with details for upcoming spots as well as behind the scenes pictures...oh boy!

I'm so pleased to have found out this actually happened. The animation is my favourite NFL-related clip I've ever seen. I just wish I could find some more of your NFL clips, as there have only ever been 2 shown in the UK.
